DO WHAT YOU LOVE, LOVE WHAT YOU DO
Published in December 2021
I met this lovely lady, Vena last week on the wedding photo shoot. When I arrived earlier than scheduled time, she gave me a hard time asking, 'who are you?' 'what time you should be here?' 'Do you know the church does not open until then?' 'What would you do if I didn't come early today?'
I smiled at her and thought... I remember now why I don't want to do wedding anymore 😄😄
When packing up, I saw her taking down the banner and I asked if I can help her.
Me: Can I help you with that?
V: No, I am an expert at this. I actually made all these banners
Me: WOW, can you tell me more about it
Her eyes suddenly light up with pride and joy as she told me the beautiful banners she made over the years and how she serves the church for 50 years and counting.
I can't help but feeling admiration towards this lady that I asked for a selfie with her. You know how old is she? 89yo!
She then continued with even more joy about how she recovered from an illness that could have killed her and how she felt she has been given second lease of life and enjoying it and....
I am sure in the end, I no longer annoyance to her, I think she likes me 🧡😄 #confident
Folks, seeing and feeling her joy was such a blessing, a great example and an inspiration of richness that goes beyond what money can buy.
It is also a blessing to GET TO DO WHAT YOU LOVE, LOVING WHAT YOU DO years after years.
It turned out to be one of the best day on wedding jobs for me. Bottom line is Folks, don't forget to do things that make you smile today. God Bless!
